History

The Cha Cha Cha, which originated in Cuba in the 20th century, is one of the five Latin dances of the World Dance Program.

Originally, the Cha Cha Cha was called Mambo-Cha-Cha-Cha or Triple-Mambo.

It is danced in 4/4 time at a tempo of 30-32 bars (120-128 bpm).

The Cha Cha Cha was invented in 1948 by Enrique Jorrín (a Cuban composer).

In 1955, the dance became a popular dance in the United States.

Since 1962, the Cha Cha Cha has been a competitive dance, and a year later it was included in the World Dance Program.

• The Cha Cha Cha begins with a side step, which is danced only once.

• The gentleman takes his first step, stepping to the right with his right foot.

Lady

• The Cha Cha Cha begins with a forward step to the side, which is danced only once.

• The lady takes her first step, stepping to the left with her left foot.
