Dance Holds
The following dance holds vary depending on the dance figure and sequence.
Sensual Bachata begins in a loose double-hand hold.
Another Sensual Bachata dance hold is the basic hold similar to the Bolero. In this closed hold, the man places his right hand on the woman's back, and the woman places her left hand on the man's right arm. Gentleman

Blocked Control Hand Hold: The lady's hands are turned so that her arm is straight and correspondingly tense (suitable for wave movements).
Shadow Position (The lady stands in front of the gentleman)
Four lines staggered to the right, one behind the other, the connection is made with the lady's left shoulder. The gentleman's right hand rests below the lady's right rib cage. The lady places her right hand on the gentleman's. Their left hands are loosely held.
Reverse Shadow Position (The lady stands behind the gentleman)
In this position, the gentleman offers his hands to the lady, who places her palms on the gentleman's. The necessary contact points are established through the forearms. A physical distance is still possible.
History
Bachata originated in the Dominican Republic in the 1960s. Bachata is a form of Cuban or Caribbean bolero guitar music.
It developed worldwide in the 1980s and 1990s with new rhythms and melodies.
It began as a musical genre; it wasn't until the 2000s that it evolved into the dance style so popular today.
It was popularized in Spain in the mid-2000s by Korke and Judith.
Sensual Bachata in Europe features flowing movements.
Bachata is danced in 4/4 time at a tempo of 115 to 160 bpm, typically at 130 to 140 bpm.
